No one's inquired about whether the forum archive will really be gone for good (and I'm not a Facebook user and can't ask them myself) but if there are any posts you'd like to be able to read in the future and there happen to be Google Cache versions available, save them to your computer now while you can.

That's a shame, as I used to enjoy browsing that site and its forums. I wonder why it was taken down.

This is horrible. I loved browsing through GAC's forum archives... at least we'll still have the old Toonzone TTTP.

From what I understand, not many people go through the pages anymore and that bandwidth can be expensive.

While I'm sad to see it go, at least we still have this site.

You can fortunately view the site here  at the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. So at least we're not screwed completely.

Unfortunately, the forum topics aren't so lucky. I was able to find a few on the vBulletin software, but almost nothing on the post-shutdown, phpBB version.

SENTIMENTAL EDIT: Honestly, had I not discovered this site, I wouldn't be where I was today. It was the first website I had ever discovered specifically tailored towards classic cartoons. The Lantz-O-Pedia prompted me to search for the unreleased Lantz Oswalds, and I learned about the Super Stars and other releases from that site, either via the forums or from one of the hosted websites.

Honestly, though, I think we've come pretty far because of that place.

Thanks, GAC.

The Lantz pages are the biggest direct loss, I think

^There was also The Columbia Crow's Nest, which remained up until 2011. It was supposed to receive an extensive update, but it never did. Thankfully, that can still be accessed through the Internet Archive.

The biggest loss was the GAC forum which first became a read only forum and now it's gone.

If it was left online, I would have been able to retrieve a lot of information and contact some user.
