Hi IAD folks,
We're announcing a 'pre-release' on the Cubby Bear Blu-ray on Thursday. We're working on a bunch of things right now and have been transferring quite a few as well for sets that may or may not happen. Some of the stop motion stuff is really astonishing- and there's other 35mm I've done that will likely not be on any sets we do in the foreseeable future. We *have to* transfer some of them tomorrow morning to get them back to the owner- though I'd rather wait a while.....
Had a big blow to a deal this past week, but hoping to still move forward before too long. The money requirements to do one the project is just too high for us to do right now (the requirement to do the 35mm scanning to 4k to a special tape master in LA being the big obstacle) but I'm hoping within the year we'll be able to talk to them again. It's one of those things that has never had a whole set out, and the 35mm is still in excellent shape. It's really two series from the early 30s. One of my huge pet projects next to 'Mr. Bug' and the Columbia cartoons.
That said, there are seven other projects in some form of movement right now...with 'Abbott and Costello Rarities' nearly out the door, finally. Cubby is the next closest, though not all cleaned up yet.
I've been debating doing one of the 'special' sets to get some of these out there, but it's a debate at the moment. What do you folks think?
On other news, the Thunderbean office is humming with activity, so I have help in making copies of the 'special' discs. We'll be offering the old ones on Blu-ray, 20 copies of each, first come, first served, later this week.
Flip is moving right along; We'll be doing a Kickstarter for one of the major bonus features on the set within the next month or so.. news on that soon.
