Has anybody heard anything more about The Alvin Show (1961) release that was announced by TVShowsonDVD recently? It is supposed to be coming in March 2015, on DVD and Blu, but I haven't heard about any other details. If this happens, I hope we get the complete series.

UPDATE: Three episodes, no blu-ray. That's a good start, but it's not enough IMO. We need the whole series released.

What? Only 3 episodes on DVD, and no Blu Ray release?#-o Come on! There were 26 episodes made and they decided to only release 3 episodes on its own official DVD release? That's ridiculous![-x They should at least have a complete set for us collectors to have on DVD and Blu Ray.

Not to mention the fail logic at Bagdasarian Prod: Not release the complete series of a incarnation which consists of original and public domain matetrial (The Alvin Show) but release a crap ton of DVDs of the notable incarnation (next to the heinous CG films) that are a legal nightmare that require right clearances for EVERY. SINGLE. SONG!

Thanks for posting the link to the announcement, Mario.
Several years ago, they released one episode, the first one, of the series. Now all we get is three more episodes with this new release? At this rate, I will have to live to well over 100 years old to get the entire series. Who thought up this brilliant marketing plan?
I was hoping to get the entire series. I would have bought it. When the other 23 shows get released, I'll pick this up.

I hope someone at Bagdasarian Productions answers my e-mail to them about why this release would only consist of three episodes.

I was wrong too, but it's still not worth checking out for collectors who rather have a complete set of the show instead of only 3 episodes.

I heard from Alvin's Facebook Page:

Show #1 "Stanley The Eagle"
Show #4 "The Ostrich That Hatched Dave's Car"
Show #10 "Overworked Alvin & The Chipmunk Song" will include "Witch Doctor"

Don't know if that's any help.

Perhaps they're releasing this first to see how good it sells. Then maybe, just maybe, a complete series set will follow.

If that was the logic for this first set of episodes, I hope anyone who purchases a copy of it sells it later if Bagdasarian Productions were to have a set of every episode scheduled for release.

Thanks to all who posted updates about this release.
Umpteen years ago they released "The Very First Alvin Show", featuring 1 episode from the original 1961 series. If it really was the first Alvin show (Episode 1), that was released earlier, they are already double dipping on this latest release by releasing episode 1 again.
So, we have 2 releases for the Alvin Show (1961), a total of 3 cartoon shows, one of which is a double dip. There is a lot not to like about this.

Jesus! The Alvin Show from the 60s!
This classical series isn't broadcasted here in Brazil since the early 70s.
Only the Alvin 80s (produced by Ruby-Spears) and 90s versions were aired here in Brazil, there are few years ago (by Globo TV network). They're also forgotten by the televised media, here in Brazil.

Am i the only one thinks it's stupid for Ross Jr. to shun the no brainer show for a comeplete series release?
I mean for the love of god, The Alvin Show is safe haven as the show comprise of Ross Sr.'s tunes and public domain songs which is safe to distribute

At least restore the show and make it available for MOD
