I'm sorry but Yogi's First Christmas isn't a special that's aged all that well, and I say this as a person who grew up with it almost 3 decades ago.

The conflict, first of all, is downright asinine.

Everyone walks on pins and needles to appease this woman on the grounds that - if someone even
sneezes the wrong way - she'll close the Jellystone lodge.

The problem is, Mrs. Trockmorton actually seems like a pretty nice lady who is well aware of the fact that Snively is a complete cretin.

So what's to fear?

When you get right down to it, there really isn't a conflict here.

I tried watching this thing a few years ago and just...no.

It's aggravatingly bad and indicative of everything that was wrong with Hanna-Barbara during this period.

Horrible songs, bad animation, inane storytelling, an ensemble cast of once mildly entertaining H/B characters who contribute nothing
but catch phrases...you name it.

And I hate Cindy Bear.</quote>

On the last....how come?:)

Anyway, I agree. I saw it when it first came out. I guess that the whole special was meant fore laughs when Snively stgarting crying as a retarded (sorry) brat but it's not supposed to be funny. The references have dated badly, and there were too many reused songs and too many characters. Cindy seemed VERY out of character in her mistletoe song (Janet Waldo plahyed both Cindy and Mrs.Throckmorton very well).

Was opening a thread just to reply an old post from the closed TTTP really that necessary? 🤨

I think we need to set up a new rule.
