ANNOUNCING THE FIRST (MAYBE ANNUAL) CREATE AN ANIMATION THEMED HOLIDAY CARD

CREATE THE SNAPPIEST HOLIDAY (Christmas, New Years, Hanukkah) CARD YOU POSSIBLY CAN AND WIN A THUNDERBEAN DVD!

With this most joyful season upon us, we'd like to celebrate by giving away stuff! Specifically a Thunderbean DVD or BluRay of your choice that is currently offered through their website. And all you have to do is get your creative and artistic juices going and create an animation themed holiday card.

Behold your judges: nickramer, TibbyH, PopKorn Kat and Toadette. Their decisions will be final.

OFFICIAL RULES

Participation in the Internet Animation Database "Create an Animation Themed Holiday Card Contest" (the “Contest”) constitutes your agreement to be bound by these Official Rules. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

Now for the fine print:

Sponsor: The Internet Animation Database

Eligibility: You must be a registered member of The Internet Animation Database. Void where prohibited by law.

Entry: To enter, create the best animation themed holiday card you possibly can. There is no limit on the number of entries you may submit. Entries must be posted in this thread and this thread alone. Any entries appearing in another thread will not be available for judging. By submitting an entry, you agree to the use of your IAD sign-in name in the article to appear on The Internet Animation Database and for promotional purposes.

Contest Period: The Contest begins at the time this message is posted and ends on December 22, 2017 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.

Prize: One Thunderbean DVD or BluRay of your choice that is currently offered through their website. Out of print items do not apply, nor do items available on retailers such as Amazon through a third party.

Notification: The winner will be notified by private message on The Internet Animation Databases forums on or about the date that the contest results are published to The Internet Animation Database's forum. If a prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable and we are unable to reach the winner after at least 2 further attempts, the prize may be re-awareded at the sole discretion of the Internet Animation Database.

Intellectual Property: You agree that The Internet Animation Database may use the Submission, or any portions or elements of the Submission, as described in these Official Rules without any payment or other obligation whatsoever to you. If you are selected as a Winner, you agree to assign and hereby do assign to The Internet Animation Database all of your rights, title and interest in the Submission. You represent and warrant that you are (a) the author/creator of the Submission, (b) that you are the present and sole owner of all right, title and interest in and to the Submission, (c) that it is an original work, (d) that you have the full, exclusive and unconditional right and authorization to submit the Submission, and (f) that no third party has any rights in or to the Submission. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless The Internet Animation Database, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors and assigns, from and against any and all claims, demands, expenses, losses or liabilities including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees and punitive damages that may be asserted against or incurred by them at any time in connection with the Submission, or any use thereof, including, without limitation, those arising from any breach, or alleged breach, of the warranties, representations and promises provided by you in these Official Rules.

General Conditions: No purchase necessary. The Internet Animation Database is not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) misdirected or delayed mail or e-mail; (ii) telephone, telecommunications, hardware or third party software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond The Internet Animation Database control that may cause the Contest to be disrupted, corrupted or terminated; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of participating in the Contest; or (iv) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest. The Internet Animation Database reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the systems required to conduct the Contest or operate The Internet Animation Database web site, or who is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. All issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the participants, shall be determined by The Internet Animation Database in its sole discretion. All decisions of The Internet Animation Database are final. By participating in the Contest, you also agree to be bound by the The Internet Animation Database Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

This is not an entry in the contest, nor should it be taken as one.

Maybe consider placing a link to this thread up on the main page of the site? A lot of people have been posting a lot of stuff (but not in this thread) and as a result it gets shoved out of one's sight pretty quickly on the forums.

Does this holiday card have to be animated? Or can it simply be a collage of cartoon characters donning holiday-themed garbs and such?

No ... in fact I'd prefer non-animated cards. Just decorated animation themed.

Do the cards have to feature existing characters or original characters, or do they have to reference the art and creation of animated films? I can create my own characters, do they have to be derived from a certain era or studio (rubber hose, UPA, etc.)?

I'm so confused here.
