The Silly Symphony cartoons were remastered by Theo Gluck and the folks at Disney. visuals kind of looks good, again I'm going ramble here that like most Disney remastered fims they don't look much like film stock anymore, but rather extreme perfectionist restoration. understandable that they want these to be presentable to a new generation. but in doing so how are they to know this movie is old? Just the year? Well most of these films kind of had a timeless quality to how they were made, the music the story, and animation they had some of Walt's values and beliefs. Also interesting to note: The Tortoise and the Hare has a new title card. Admit it Mr. Gluck that title card is not the original. What you are doing is no different than what your company has done in the past:. Disney had made new title cards since the 1940's and 1950's for their reissues of short films P.S. I admit I like Theo Gluck's 2008 restoration of Sleeping Beauty (1959) (except for some parts) Edited by user Friday, December 23, 2016 1:44:58 AM(UTC)

I guess I should mentioned that Theo Gluck is going to do a lecture on Disney animation restoration in February at the Wexner Center in Columbus, Ohio (which is around where I live): http://www.wexarts.org/f...tion-walt-disney-studiosYou guys are welcome to come to the event. However, if there is a Q and A section during this presentation, please ask your question in the most polite way as possible and behave well.

A bit disappointed that Maltin didn't mention Carl Barks in his introduction of "Good Scouts". As a (uncredited) co-writer of this short, that cartoon left an impact on Barks as during in comic career, he created "The Junior Woodchucks", the scout organization that Huey, Dewey, and Louie belong to and were junior generals of.

You forgot to mention "Hacksaw" which was a "Wonderful World of Disney" two-parter.

I was still glad to provide a hyperlink to a page made specifically about how those movies would be broadcast between this Friday and this Saturday through Turner Classic Movies, though.

I should mentioned that Maltin talked a bit about William Lava during the closing introduction for "The Tattooed Police Horse" (Lava did the score for that along with the preceded Academy Award winning featurette, "The Horse With the Flying Tail").
