Anyone know who this animator was? I just noticed him being credited for animation for a 60s Magoo cartoon alongside Ed Solomon.

It was a she, not a he. Worked for Hanna-Barbera, most memorably, and some other studios.

Thanks for the info, Pokey. Do you know her real name? I think "Xenia" is a pseudonym.

Just did some random search, and I found she was credited as "Xenia Demattia" in some other shows.
There was another DeMattia called "Edward DeMattia", and they worked together on shows like "Scooby's All Star Laff-A-Lympics". I wonder if they are relatives.

Going on Alberto Becattini's site, it seems she was at Iwerks (in 1933), Mintz, Lantz, and Disney, though years aren't listed. She also animated on "Charlotte's Web" and "The Phantom Tollbooth", for H-B and MGM retrospectively. It appears she also did voice work for Disney on "For Whom the Bull Tolls" (1953).

Xenia Beckwith was the only other female in the animation department, besides animator Verne Harding, at the Lantz studios by 1944-45, according to Roger Armstrong. She was married to Ed De Mattia, but divorced after his return from the service. She previously married animator Ralph Sommerville, who also worked for Lantz (in the early '40s), and was one of many young artists-turned animation staffers who contributed to the "juniors page" of the Los Angeles Times in 1928.

She also worked at Filmation, more exactly in The Archie Show (1968).

Here's somewhere else where they appeared together. At their wedding.
