got a question about W7's and post 'golden age' shorts
« on: April 17, 2012, 11:33:30 am »
now it's my understanding that Warner Bros outsourced to DePatie-Freleng Enterprises in which we all know the quality wasn't up to par with those produced at Warner Bros now my question is the shorts that were produced at DePatie-Freleng Enterprises were they for theatrical runs or were they produced for the television audience also whats the history behind Spaced Out Bunny , Portrait of the Artist as a Young Bunny i've noticed that the opening theme is that of the theme that was used during CBS's runs of BB/RR show so would I be right to assume that the aboved named shorts were produced for television not for theaters?

Also one more question when Looney Tunes/MM were shown in theaters were they packaged with films from Warner Bros or could they have been packaged with a movie from another studio (I.E. 20th Century fox Charlie Chan series)

thanks guys!

Lot's of  Questions you've got there. ;) I think I can answer a few. For starters, ALL Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts to my knowlege have been produced for the theratical audience. Cartoons such as Spaced Out Bunny and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Bunny were made for television, more specifically, they were produced for television specials. Also, as far as I know, All Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts were packaged with films by Warner Brothers, but it could have been up to the theater who carried the shorts to decide what short was playing with what film. That should answered all of your questions, me lad. Hope this helps. :)
I love classic cartoons!
